Palazzo Fiano in Rome, headquarters of Fucino Green

In the heart of the Rione Colonna, at the corner of Via del Corso and Piazza di San Lorenzo in Lucina, it has been called “the biggest and most wonderful” palace on the Corso. The original building is more than 800 years old and stands next to the early Christian Basilica of San Lorenzo in Lucina.

First it was a cardinal's residence, then a noble residence, Palazzo Fiano hosted Massimo D'Azeglio in 1814. Half a century later, it underwent the architectural intervention that presents it to us in its current form.

Also noteworthy is the discovery - during excavations to consolidate the Palace, from 1568 to 1938 - of the famous Ara Pacis Augustae: all of the removable elements were then reassembled in its current location on the Tiber Promenade, next to the Mausoleum of Augustus.

The basement of the Palace still houses the remains of the great Sundial of Augustus.
